Each private road on the Estate – Parkfield, Wildernesse Avenue/Seal Drive and Woodland Rise – has a Road Trustees Committee which is responsible for maintaining the road and its verges. Their responsibilities include trees and lamp posts along the verges, gates and barriers at the entry to the roads, signs and public liability insurance. The Trustees own the roads and verges on behalf of residents. This is a significant task. For example, there are 300 trees along the verges of Wildernesse Avenue and Seal Drive alone, including an historic avenue of limes. Fees to cover the costs of upkeep of each road are reviewed by its residents and are compulsory for them.

The Road Trustees are completely separate bodies from the WRA, with different responsibilities. Each Road Trustees Committee is concerned with its own road, not the Estate as a whole, and is not responsible for covenants and Conservation Area issues.

The WRA and Road Trustees maintain good relations. Some WRA committee members also serve as Trustees on their roads. The WRA and Trustees exchange information and work together on any issues which arise that are of mutual interest.
