The WRA works on behalf of residents of the Wildernesse Estate.  As stated in our very first Guide for Residents in 2000, our aim is to enhance the Estate “for the benefit and enjoyment of all residents, present and future”.  How we do this is determined by our members.  They set our role and our activities.

All residents have an interest in the Estate, its environment and their properties.  They should join the WRA to have a voice in our goals and tasks.

We need as many members as possible to help finance our work and to lend support to our voice.

The character of the Estate and its rural environment will be at very serious risk if the key covenants protecting its nature are breached or if developments undermine the core features of the Conservation Area.

From time to time, we also need a strong voice in representing residents’ interests to Sevenoaks District Council and other councils and bodies.

It is therefore vital that residents join the WRA to help guide our activities and support our agreed work.

We are a voluntary organisation which makes no profit – all our income is necessary to fund our activities and provide sufficient reserve to pay for legal and other professional advice which may sometimes be necessary.

We therefore urge all residents to join us and not rely on others to guide and drive forward our activities.

We also welcome any resident who wishes to serve on our Committee.  Our work is interesting and provides rewarding involvement in local matters.  Tasks and meetings can be managed to avoid any undue burden on any individual member.
